St Tropez

An hour and a half drive from Antibes is the lovely town of St Tropez. It was smaller than I expected, and older with pretty old buildings around the port. We had great weather on this early April day - the town was not too busy but I can imagine that it must be packed in the high summer and the roads in and out very busy too. There is a cemetery on the coastline, and a fort on the hill, all close enough to walk. Many of the roads are very narrow and so most of the old town streets are pedestrianised.

... Oh yes, and if you do visit . . . red trousers seem to be de rigueur.
